What your hourly rate covers

Pay, our fee, founder vetting, ongoing review, contracts and invoicing. Three costs sit outside it.

In the rate

  • Engineer pay
  • Our fee, with no placement, platform or per-seat charge
  • Two hours of founder-led vetting before you meet anyone
  • A founder-written engineering digest weekly or every two weeks
  • A vetted replacement within 5 business days if the placement stops working
  • Contractor agreements, IP assignment and invoicing
  • One consolidated invoice from one US company

Outside the rate

  • Engineer hardware
  • Third-party software licenses and cloud costs
  • Travel for on-site work

What moves your final rate

We name the input that moved your number, instead of burying it in a markup.

  1. 01

    Seniority

Senior or staff/lead sets your starting band. Nothing moves the rate more.

  2. 02

    How scarce the stack is

Common stacks such as React and Node usually sit mid-band. Niche infrastructure, ML and regulated-industry experience push toward the top because the qualified pool is smaller.

  3. 03

    Engagement length

Six months or longer costs less than a two-month engagement, because we do not restart sourcing every eight weeks.

  4. 04

How fast you need a start

A standard start notice costs nothing extra. If a rushed start or anything else raises the rate, we tell you before the quote.

Lower rates exist. Compare what they leave with you.

Ours pays for a founder who has held the role to pair with each candidate for two hours, write up strengths and gaps before your interview, and read the engineer's code weekly or every two weeks after the start. If the lowest hourly rate is your only criterion, we are not the right fit.

Pricing questions, answered

Twenty minutes. You leave knowing whether we can fill the role.

Tell us the stack, the scope and the seniority. On the call you get a straight answer on whether we can fill it and what it would cost. If we take it on, a founder pairs with each candidate and you get one to three names with the write-ups attached. If nobody clears the bar, we say so instead of padding the list.

Or email . We read every single email.
